The “Meublé de Tourisme” is a villa, an apartment, a “cottage” or a furnished studio, for the exclusive use of the tenant, offered for rent to a passing client who makes a stay characterized by a rental by the day, to week or month, and who does not elect domicile “(Code of Tourism-Art D324-1).

 

“Meublé de tourisme” are divided into one of the categories expressed by the number of stars increasing according to their comforts fixed by a decree” (Code of Tourism-Art D324-2). They are rated from 1 to 5 stars.
The accomodation apartment is seasonal, that is to say that the renter must not rent to the same person for a period of more than 90 days or 12 consecutive weeks (Art1-1 Act Hoguet No. 70-9 of January 2 1970).
Classified housing must be for the exclusive use of the tenant, without passage of the owner or other tenants, during all the stay.
